It all began...
In the Summer of 2006, Joel Halpin and his wife Erica felt God calling them to plant a church. After a great deal of prayer and study, they decided that God was calling them to plant a church in Murphy, Texas. The first meeting of the Springs church was on Sunday, September 10, 2006 in the home of Joel’s brother, Jeremy Halpin and his wife, Rachel. There were 10 people at their first meeting.

On November 5, The Spring’s hosted their first “preview service” at Boggess Elementary in Murphy. 80 people attended the first monthly service. Three more preview services were held in December and January. On February 11, The Springs began meeting weekly in Boggess Elementary and has remained committed to reaching the community in new and exciting ways. The church has grown quickly- from two people into an exciting church that brings practical, yet biblical answers to life’s questions.

Who are we?
We are a brand new, regional church that is beginning in the city of Murphy, Texas. We are currently meeting at Boggess Elementary.

What is a visit to the Springs like?
It is a comfortable, yet productive hour each Sunday. The people that attend the Springs are just like you, because they are your friends and neighbors. We gear our services to make them practical for families that live in Murphy. This is why we begin a little later (at 10:30 a.m.), because we know it can take time to get a family ready and let's face it- it is nice to sleep in on Sundays! Our services last for one hour, because we understand that your family's time is important.

When you visit us, feel free to wear whatever makes you comfortable, our dress is casual. Our music is upbeat and contemporary and our messages aim to make the Bible practical to your life.
